NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President today accepted the resignation of James L. Mitchell
as Under Secretary of Housing and Urban Devel opment. The President
expressed his deep, personal appreciation for Mr. Mit chell's service
while at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The President is deeply grateful that Mr. Mitchell will continue in
Government service as Associate Director of the Office of Management
and Budget for Natural Resources, Energy and Science.
Mr. Mitchell was appointed as Under Secretary of Housing and Urban
Development on April 10, 1974.
