Ford Presidential Library\nMAY 28, 1975\nOffice of theWhite House Press Secretary\n(Brussels, Belgium)\nNOTICE TO THE PRESS\nThe President has signed H.R. 7136 - the Special Supplemental Food\nProgram for Women, Infants and Children, which extends from July 1,\n1975 through September 30, 1975 the Special Supplemental Food Program\nfor Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) authorized under the Child\nNutrition Act.\nThe President has signed S. 326 - Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands,\nwhich increases the fiscal year 1975 appropriation authorization ceiling\nfor civil government activities of the Trust Territory of the Pacific\nIslands and authorizes certain funds for planning the transition to com-\nmonwealth status for the Mariana Islands District of the Trust Territory.\nThe President has signed H. R. 4269 - the Increase Allowances for\nCongressional Delegates from Guam and the Virgin Islands, which\nauthorizes the delegates to the House of Representatives from Guam\nand the Virgin Islands to receive the same clerk hire and travel\nallowances as are received by Members of the House of Representatives.\nThe President has vetoed H. R. 5 357 which would authorize appropriations\ntotalling $98,125,000 to the Secretary of Commerce for the promotion\nof tourist travel. (VETO STATEMENT AVAILABLE SEPARATELY)\nThe President today proclaimed that imports entering into the U.S.\nCustoms territory during the months of February through May 1975 will\nbe $1 per barrel. He also proclaimed that imports entering in the month\nof June 1975 and thereafter will be $1.40 per barrel.
