Ford Presidential Library JUNE 16, 1975 Office of the White House Press Secretary NOTICE TO THE PRESS The President has signed H.J. Res. 492 -- Urgent Supplemental Appropriations for Summer Youth Employment and Recreation. The resolution provides a total of $473,350,000 to the Department of Labor and the Community Services Administration for summer youth employmentand recreation programs. H.J. Res. 492 will provide: An increase of $43.7 million to the President's $412.7 request for the Department of Labor's Summer Youth Employment Program. The resolution will provide for and additional 80,000 job opportunities. An unrequested $15.3 million to maintain the Community Services Administration's Summer Youth Recreation Program at its 1974 level of operation. An unrequested $1. 7 million to provide participating youth with transportation to the recreation and job program locations. This appropriation will continue the transportation; program at last summer's level of operation. # # #
