Ford Presidential Library SEPTEMBER 9, 1975 Office of the White House Press Secretary NOTICE TO THE PRESS The President's Schedule The President came to the Oval Office at 7.:40 a. m. and met with members of his staff prior to the Republican Congressional Leadership Meeting at 8:00 a. m. The purpose of the Congressional meeting was to discuss the status of various legislative matters. The President will have meetings with staff members until noon, when he will meet with the President's Commission on Olympic Sports. The 22 member Commission was appointed June 19, 1975, to analyze amateur Olympic sports and report to the President. This is the first official meeting of the membership and they will be sworn in by HEW Secretary Mathews at 11:45 a.m. in the Cabinet Room. At 2:00 p.m., the President will have an Economic/Energy meeting in the Cabinet Room. This is the regular meeting with advisers for an update on economic and energy matters. At 5:00 p.m., the President will meet with leaders of the Portuguese/ American organizations from Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The group requested the meeting to discuss the situation in Portugal. Announcements The President has sent to the Speaker of the House of Representatives a proposed supplemental appropriations for fiscal 1976 in the amount of $920, and for the transition quarter, July 1, 1976, to September 30, 1976, in the amount of $230,000 for the Executive Office of the President. (Posting) The President has announced his intention to nominate three persons to be members of the National Study Commission on Records and Documents of Federal Officials. (Release) The President has sent to the Speaker of the House of Representatives proposed appropriations for fiscal 1976 in the amount of $548, 000 and for the transition quarter, July 1 through September 30, 1976, in the amount of $200,000 for the Privacy Protection Study Commission. The President has sent to the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the fiscal 1976 in the amount of $445,000 and transition period July 1, 1976, to September 30, 1976, in the amount of $111, 000 for the Federal Communications Commission. ###
