Digitized from Box 19 of the White House Press Releases at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DECEMBER 24, 1975 OFFICE OF THE WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY (Vail, Colorado) QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION BY THE PRESIDENT GONDOLA NO. 1 VAIL, COLORADO 1:26 P.M. MST THE PRESIDENT: Who do we get, Ann today? (Laughter) QUESTION: How was it? THE PRESIDENT: Great, perfect, excellent. People don't know what they are missing. QUESTION: How are the skiing conditions? THE PRESIDENT: Excellent, really. The sun was wonderful, the snow was good and I fell down once. QUESTION: What caused that? THE PRESIDENT: Carelessness. (Laughter) It was the easiest part of the slope. QUESTION: What are you going to be doing on Christmas Day? THE PRESIDENT: Skiing, opening presents, having a good time with the family. QUESTION: How do you feel about the criticism -- or some of your aides have suggested that this is not politicly good for you to come out and being seen frolicking on the Rockies. THE PRESIDENT: I see an awful lot of nice people out here and I think an awful lot of Americans are spending time with their family, as we are, so I would do it because of that. Political consequences? I really haven't thought about it. QUESTION: Do you think it has any political consequences? THE PRESIDENT: I think it's a plus rather than a minus. It is real nice to see you all. MORE Page 2 QUESTION: Have you talked to Secretary Dunlop? There is lots of confusion about this on whether or not you have talked with him. THE PRESIDENT: I talked to him the day I decided to veto. QUESTION: What is his status? Is he presently thinking about resigning? THE PRESIDENT: I haven't talked to him. Bye, everybody. THE PRESS: Thank you. END (1:29 P.M. MST)
