Digitized from Box 19 of the White House Press Releases at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library DECEMBER 29, 1975 POOL REPORT 9:00 a. m. to 3:00 p.m. The President started skiing at 11:00 a.m. Walking over to Gondola One he waived to greeters but did not stop and went in back door before boarding Gondola Sixteen for the ride up. A few minutes later he skied down to the chair lift near the Gondola where he met Billy Kidd, considered one of the top U. S. skiers, who joined the President's party for the latter part of the skiing. No pool coverage on the meeting with Kidd or the ride up on the chair lift because no one was informed of it. The President skied down about 2:15 p.m. and said to reporters who had asked about his skiing partners "you mean the Vail follies. 11 Ford was then asked if Sheika was raising any money for him and he said, "I don't know anything about it. I have got a lot of friends here. 11 He then walked toward his house and when someone asked if he had any New Year's resolutions, he said, "A good year for everybody." Sheika talked to the pool about the party tonight and said that her fund raising activities "have absolutely nothing to do with tonight." "It's just my dinner, 11 she said. She did say that people could give money to the Ford campaign if they wanted to but there was no connection with the dinner. She said those attending included old friends of the Fords and some friends of hers whom she wanted to introduce to the President. Aldo Beckman/Chicago Tribune # # #
