NOTICE TO THE PRESS
5:00 p.m. POSTING
The President has designated Mr. Philip Buchen, Counsel to the
President, as his personal representative to meet the Air For ce plane
arriving at Andrews Air Force Base in the morning carrying the body
of Mr. Richard Welsch.
The President returned from skiing at approximately 2:25 p.m.
After a short swim and a light lunch, the President spent the remainder
of the afternoon reviewing paperwork in the Bass residence.
The President also announced today his intention to nominate Willard A.
DePree, of Zeeland, Michigan to be Ambassador to the People's Republic
of Mozambique. (SEPARATE RELEASE AVAILABLE ON THIS ANNOUNCEMENT)
