NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President today announced his intention to nominate Harlington Wood,
Jr., of Springfield, Illinois, to be a United States Circuit Judge for the
Seventh Circuit. He will succeed John Paul Stevens who was named to the
Supreme Court on December 19, 1975.
Mr. Wood has been a United States District Judge for the Southern District
of Illinois since 1973.
A biographical sketch is attached.
