Ford Presidential Library ARIL 15, 1976 Office of the White House Press Secretary NOTICE TO THE PRESS The President today announced the appointment of three persons as members and an adviser-member of the Council on Wage and Price Stability. They are: Members W. J. Usery, Jr., Secretary of Labor. He succeeds John T. Dunlop who has resigned. Elliot Richardson, Secretary of Commerce. He succeeds Rogers C.B. Morton who has resigned. Adviser-Member John R. Quarles, Jr., Deputy Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. He succeeds Michael Moskow who became Director of the Council on September 11, 1975. The purpose of the Council is to monitor the economy as a whole with respect to such key indicators as wages, costs, productivity, profits and prices. The Council on Wage and Price Stability was established within the Executive Office of the President by act of August 24, 1974. # # #
