NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President today announced the appointment of Wallace N. Jibson, of
Logan, Utah, as the United States Representative to the Bear River
Commission. He succeeds Ernest O. Larson who resigned effective upon
the appointment of a successor. Mr. Jibson has been Supervisory
Hydrologist of the Water Resources Division, for the United States
Geological Survey in Logan.
The purpose of the Commission is to enforce the provisions of a compact
between the three states. The major provision of the compact is to remove
the causes of the then controversy and all future controversy over the
distribution and use of the waters of the Bear River.
