THE WHITE HOUSE
The President today announced the appointment of five persons as members
of the National Commission on the Observance of International Women's Year,
1975. They are:
Mrs. Lloyd Royal, of Springfield, Nebraska, housewife.
Dr. Gloria D. Scott, of Greesnboro, North Carolina,
National President, Girl Scouts of America, New York,
New York.
Randy Ann Baca, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Vice President/
Account Executive, Group West Advertising & Public Relations,
Inc.
Elizabeth Carpenter, of the District of Columbia, Co-Chairman,
ERA America.
John Mack Carter, of the Bronx, New York, Editor-in-Chief,
Good Housekeeping Magazine, New York, New York.
Public Law 94-167 of December 23, 1975 extended the life of the Commission
in order to permit it to organize and convene a National Women's Conference.
Upon conclusion of the Conference the Commission will submit a final report
to the President and to the Congress not later than 120 days thereafter. Upon
submission of this report the Commission will continue operations for an
additional 30 days and then terminate. In no case shall it extend beyond
March 31, 1978.
