THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
April 15, 1975
Dear Mr. President:
It was a special pleasure to welcome you
to Washington and I want to express my
deep gratitude for the magnificent statue
of King David which you so thoughtfully
presented. Mrs. Ford was equally delighted
with the beautiful necklace and earring set
she received. I also want to thank you for
your kindness in sending the inspiring vol-
ume of children's paintings and poems. These
gifts will serve to remind all Americans of
your visit and of the deep friendship that
exists between Israel and the United States.
I very much appreciated the chance to meet
personally with you and to benefit from our
exchange of views. I look forward to close
cooperation between our Governments in pur-
suit of regional and world peace.
With personal best wishes to you and Mrs.
Katzir.
Sincerely,
Hand R.

At the inauguration in his home of an "Exhibition of Children's
Paintings and Poems on Peace" on January 27, President Katzir
presented copies of the enclosed book to the assembled Diplomatic
