I think it would be an excellent idea to establish the new country of "Western United States". Of course, you would be President, with the White House in no other spot than in Vail, Colorado! Incidentally, my wife's maiden name is Gwen van Eerden. Her grandfather lost his job in the House of Representatives in 1948 to a young upstart named Gerald Ford. I'm sure you remember his name, Barney Jonkman. I hope someday to meet you skiing at Vail.
