Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
October 14, 1975
Dear Mr. President:
I
deeply appreciated the lovely letter that you sent
to me at Newport News the day of the launching of
the uss DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69).
It was a very memorable occasion and showed that Ike
had many friends among the populus, for there were
certainly over three thousand people present from
the little towns around the area.
Mr. Rockefeller was a very fine representative of
yours, and I deeply appreciated his and Mrs. Rockefeller's
attending.
To you and the First Lady I send my warm regard.
mamic Eighthoner
Sincerely
The President
