To reschedule the private White House screening of the
upcoming NBC made for television movie, "The Terrible
Hours," starring Sam Neill from Saturday, May 19 to May
16.
PURPOSE:
To view the movie the day before it premieres on NBC
BACKGROUND:
The movie is about one of America's most legendary naval
heroes, Lt. "Swede" Momsen and his daring underwater
rescue of 33 men off the coast of Portsmouth, NH from a
sunken submarine. The event took place just prior to the
United States' entrance into World War II. It is directed by
James Keach, who is married to actress Jane Seymour, and
is also a good friend of the Vice President, General Colin
Powell, and Representative Dan Burton (R-6th IN), who
initiated the request. The book on which the movie is
based received excellent reviews and the movie is very
patriotic.
