Lawyer Position Sought Position Firm / Agency DTR, General Counsel Associate Counsel The White House 2005-Present Notables - Hoyt Was Cited In A News Article After Being Named Associate Counsel At The White House. "Robert F. Hoyt, a Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr partner, has joined the White House counsel's office as an associate counsel. No word yet on his portfolio, but Hoyt was the vice chairman of his firm's powerhouse securities department for a time and served on the firm's management committee. So chatter is that it's unlikely that he would leave for or be recruited for an associate counsel job unless the White House expects to be playing some serious defense in the coming months on the investigations front." (The Washington Post, 7/20/05) The Legal Times Reported In 1999 That: "Wilmer lawyers in 1998 also worked on behalf of the Oklahoma City bombing victims, persuading Chief U.S. District Judge Richard Matsch of the District of Colorado to enter a restitution order against bombing co-conspirator Terry Nichols. Matsch previously had indicated that he would not enter any restitution order because Nichols had few assets, but Wilmer lawyers argued Nichols might earn considerable sums through media interviews and similar deals. Wilmer also represented two bombing victims who wanted to speak at Nichols' sentencing hearing. After oral argument, Matsch ruled that Wilmer's clients-- as well as other victims of the bombing--had a federal right of allocution. 'You couldn't put it into words how appreciative these victims were, says Wilmer partner Robert Hoyt. "There was nothing more important to them than addressing the court or keeping these people from making a million bucks by selling their story to Hard Copy." Hoyt Has Been Cited In Several Lawsuits Due To His Position As An Attorney. (See Attached) Flags No Flags Found.
