M. RIXEY,\nEUGENE WASDIN,\nMATTHEW D. MANN, CHARLES McBURNEY,\nHERMAN MYNTER, CHARLES G. STOCKTON.\nROSWELL PARK,\nSURGICAL HISTORY.\nPRESIDENT WILLIAM McKinley was shot by Leon F. Czolgosz in\nthe Temple of Music, at the Pan-American Exposition, Buffalo, N. Y.,\nat about seven minutes past 4 on the afternoon of Friday, September 6,\n1901. Two shots were fired. One bullet struck near the upper part\nof the sternum, and the other in the left hypochondriac region. The\nPresident was immediately conveyed to the Emergency Hospital on the\nExposition grounds by the motor ambulance, where he arrived at 4.18.\nDr. G. McK. Hall and Mr. Edward C. Mann, medical student of the\nhouse staff, were in charge of the ambulance, Medical Student T. F.\nEllis being the driver.\nOn arriving at the hospital President McKinley was at once placed\nupon the table in the operating-room and undressed. During the re-\nmoval of his clothing a bullet fell out and was picked up by Mr. Ellis.\nDr. Hall placed a temporary antiseptic dressing over the wounds, and\nMr. Mann ordered a nurse to administer 0.01 gramme of morphine and\n0.002 gramme of strychnine hypodermically.\nDr. Herman Mynter, who had been telephoned from police head-\nquarters to report immediately at the Exposition Hospital, was the first\nsurgeon to arrive, at 4.45 o'clock. At that time Drs. P. W. Van Peyma\nand Joseph Fowler, of Buffalo, N. Y., and Dr. Edward Wallace Lee,"
