Personal. WHITE HOUSE, WASHINGTON. November 19, 1901. My dear Sir: The President has been informed that many of the federal employees in Denver, Colorado, have been tak- ing an active part in conducting political conventions. He desires it fully understood by them that this is highly undesirable; that they are not to act as chair- men of political organizations nor to make themselves unduly prominent in local political matters. Very truly yours, Secretary to the President. Hon. E. A. Hitchcock, Secretary of the Interior.
