Dear.Mr. Loeb,-The friends of Mr. Geo. W. 0'Neal of Harrison Arkansas,
who applies for appointment as register of the land office at that
place, request me to ascertain whether it is likely that action will
be taken at an early date in the matter. Mr. 0'Neal and his friends
say that they desire to file endorsements about the llth or 12th in-
stant, 10 practicable, but can do so earlier if deemed nacessary I do
not volunteer any recommendation in the matter, but write for this
information, which I hope you can furnish me.
