My dear Fellow:
Our good friend Hon. Harry B. Hawes, candidate for
the Senate is going to be in Jackson County, July 23±d in the
in have and meet the Democrats of Blue Township at Independence
interest of his campaign. He wants to spend the entire day
in the evening. I want him to be met by a reception com-
mittee of Democrats as large as I can make it. I am asking
you to allow me to use your name on the list as one of the
reception committee. I want also an Executive committee to
help me in arranging for his entertainment and introduction
while he is here. I would like also for you to act in
that capacity. Please let me hear from you not later than
Moddesday and if you can act on the executive committee I will
want you to meet with us at my office Friday evening at
8 o'clock to arrange the program. A rousing welcome for
Mr. Hawes will not only make him feel good, but it will do
much to intensify the interest in the party locally.
