RESOLUTION

PRESIDENT HARRY S. TRUMAN
The National Jewish Welfare Board mourns the death of
former President Harry S. Truman.
Mr. Truman was a beloved leader and a great President.
He was a symbol of world leadership, a courageous statesman,
a warrior against tyranny, and a humanitarian concerned with
the welfare of all men,
Mr. Truman will be long remembered and revered for
placing his convictions behind United States support for
the creation of Israel. Mr. Truman was the first chief of
state to recognize and to provide economic and political
aid to Israel. Mr. Truman will be noted in the annals of
history as a courageous man of action who understood the
struggle for Jewish Statehood and responded with decisiveness.
The National Jewish Welfare Board conveys to Mrs. Truman
and her family its deepest and sincerest condolences.
