    "ocrText": "- 2 -\nOn that day, four live oak trees were symbolicly\nplanted in the memory of former President Truman,\nformer President Eisenhower, former President Johnson\nand former Senator Richard Russell. I was asked to\nrepresent you. Mrs. Eisenhower was there to receive\nthe Certificate honoring her husband, J. B. Fuqua repre-\nsented Mrs. Johnson and Dr. Russell, brother of Senator\nRussell, was present.\nI will send the Certificate to Rose Conway as I\nthought the Library would be the appropriate place for\nthe Certificate of Appreciation.\nThe Certificate was given by the Augusta Optimist\nClub and the Georgia Forestry Commission and the inscription\non it is as follows:\n\"Certificate of Appreciation Honoring\nPresident Harry S. Truman\n1884 - 1973\nFor his expansion of river basin plans and\nthe inclusion of pollution control within the\nplans to meet the nation's future needs as\nrelated to the expansion of watershed\nimprovements, water supply, recreation\nand fish and wildlife. 11\nAlthough the 1973 date is incorrect, I thought it\nappropriate to accept the Certificate as prepared."
