MEMORANDUM FOR MR. CONNELLY:

His Excellency Feridun C. Erkin, Ambassador of
the Turkish Republic, has requested an appointment
with the President.
If the appointment is granted the Honorable
George C. McGhee, Assistant Secretary of State for
Near Eastern, South Asian and African Affairs, will
accompany the Ambassador.
Please let me know whether it will be convenient
for the President to receive the Ambassador and, if so,
upon what date.
