MEETING WITH THE PRESIDENT

de jure recognition of Israel and Transjordan.
The President approved the memorandum on de jure
recognition of Israel and Transjordan, copy attached.
Please prepare and send to the White House tabs
a, b, c, and d. In the future the Secretariat should
give me a complete copy for the President's files of
every paper which I ask him to approve.
Important: In connection with the recognition of
Israel, the President requests that he be given twenty-
four hours notice, if possible, of the date and hour
proposed, inasmuch as he is most anxious to have a
close friend of his from Kansas City with him when he
makes this announcement. Please do not fail to have.
this request carried out.
