ARCHIVES *NATIONAL REGORDS AND - SERVICE** Mr. Bonnet asid the Preneb Government objected to the use in Berlin of the mark of the western sones since this would irreparebly tie Borlin with & western Germany. His Government had suggested en independent currency for the western sectors. It was explained to him that this had been studied by our tochni cal people who regerded it as not feasible, since such an independent curreney would have no becking and would quickly deteriorate. Mr. Bonnet said he did not have the technical quali- fications to discuas the matter further but said he would report my viewa to hia Government. D.A. EUR: CE: JDBeam: AMR
