Neveloy, Ohier, Division of Mexican Affairs. 1-1493 The Mexican Ambessador, at his request, called on the Secretary this afternoon, accespanied by Bonator Bernudez and Genor Biorre. Beñor de la Colina said that he wished to cengritulate the Secrotary upon the completion of the work comected with the Atlantio Pact. Senator Bermudez sdded congratulatory ra- marks and the Gecretary expressed bis thanks for these atate- monts. The Mexioan Ambassador said that he had hesitated in make ing this request for the valuable time by asking for the appointment, but that aa he aware of the Secretary's friendship for Nexico during his aovorel terma of office In the Department he desired that the Senator have the opportunity of meeting the Secretary and prosenting in brist form an outline of the subject matter of his visit to Washington. Benator Bermudes informed the Gecrotary that the natter of the devolopent of the Mexican petroleum industry was of primary interest for his country. lie referred to the fact that Mexico considezed its economic well being and general development dependent, as in the United States, upon an adequate supply of power and that the aouroo of this power in Nexico is DECLASSIFIED the E.O. 10501
