1022 s June 30, 1949 AND SERVICE" Memorandum of Telephone Conversation Senator Homer Ferguson telephoned the Secretary to request assistance on preparation of a speech he plans to make at Kent University in Ohio on July 6th. He wants to discuss foreign policy some of the principles that have been covered in the past and what our aims are. The Secretary said he felt sure the Department could be helpful and suggested that Mr. Francis Russell come up and discuss the matter with the Senator, to which the Senator readily agreed. The Secretary added that Mr. Russell gets around to colleges and universities over the country a great deal and knows what the young people are interested in. It was agreed that Mr. Russell would see Senator Ferguson this afternoon. Mr. Russell has been advised by telephone, and so has Ben Brown in Gross's office. L. D. B. S:DHM
