Memorandum of Telephone Conversation:
The Secretary
Mr. William Foster of ECA
Mr. Foster called the Secretary to say that he would be
glad to have a talk with Benator Knowland about Korea if the
Secretary wanted him to, but he did have some quaims about
getting in the middle of it.
The Secretary told him he did not believe, in view of what
took place when he apeeared before the Committee hyesterday,
that it would be desirable for Mr. Foster to see the Senator.
The Secretary then told Mr. Foster of the discussion yesterday
and what Mr. McFall plans to try to do about the matter.
