    "ocrText": "CONFIDENTIAL\n762\n277-a\nOctober 12, 1950\nAND\nRECORDS\nSERVICE*\nMemorandum of telephone conversation:\nThe Secretary telephoned Ambassador Wrong today\nand said he wanted to talk frankly with him about the proposed\ntrip to Canada. The Secretary explained the difficulties\nwhich had come up about going the latter part of October.\nAmbassador Wrong said he understood this; that the\nCanadians, of course, wanted the Secretary to come, but he\nunderstood the Secretary's view that there should be some\ngood, ostensible reason for the trip and that it should not be\njust a juncket. It was left that Ambassador Wrong would\nreport to the Prime Minister that the Secretary could not\ncome before the latter part of November at the earliest,\nand he would suggest to the Prime Minister that the latter\nsend the Secretary an invitation for a certain date, which\nthe Secretary could consider in the light of his schedule.\nDECLASSIFIED\nE.
