CONFIDENTIAL 108 ARCHIVES NATIONAL AND RECOROS es April 20, 1951 S/S: The Secretary told me that at Cabinet meeting this morning whoever was repereshting the Labor Department mentioned that representatives of the Labor Department would be making numerous speeches in the near future at state labor conventions and other meetings of this sort. The Department has some interest in making speeches on foreign policy matters and would like to get help from the Department of State. The Secretary said that he would be glad to have someone get in touch with the Labor Department and offer such assistance as we could give. The President referred to Mr. Acheson's speech of Wednesday night and said that this was the party line. He said that all speeches should be in conformity with the general policies set forth in Mr. Acheson's speech. Can someone check and determine who went to Cabinet from the Labor Department and have the appropriate people in the Department of State get in touch with him. L. D. B. DECLASSIFIED E. O. 11652, Sec. 3(E) and 3(D) or (E) Dept. of State letter, 5-12-76 Aug.9,1973 By NLT HL . MARS Date 24.66 S:LDB:dhm CONFIDENTIAL
