His Excelleney Hipolito J. Paz, newly appointed Ambassador of
the Argentine Republic, called on the today atl2:30 to present
copies of his credentials and to request an appointment with the
President.
The conversation, which lasted some eight minutes, was of a
general nature. I told the Ambassador that it was a particular
satisfaction to me, after our close association in the Conference
of American Foreign Ministers held last March, to learn that his
Government had chosen him for this important task.
The Ambassador spoke with evident sincerity of his pleasure
at being sent as Ambassador to Tashington, a city which he had
already learned to love and appreciate since his earlier visit here
this year.
No matters of a political nature were discussed.
