MEMORANDUM OF CONVERSATION WITH THE PRESIDENT
Item 1. - Trade Agreement Negotiations with Venezuela
I mentioned to the President that the Trade Agreement Com-
mittee was meeting this afternoon to make a recommendation to
him in the light of the NSC action yesterday. I said that this
recommendation would probably be that the President give
authority to go below the peril point findings if necessary.
The President said that he understood this and was ready to take
such action if it were recommended to him.
