Secretary Brannan telephoned the Secretary to
say that he was addressing a letter (attached) to him
which was in the nature of a polite compl int regarding
the booklet entitled "Land Reform - a World Challenge".
prepared by the State Department, which he said completely
ignored the fact that any other agency of the Government
or any committee or persons outside the State Department
was at all concerned or interested in land reform problems.
Mr. Brannan said it had occurred to him that it might be
useful if this were brought to the Secretary! attention
so that other agencies might be out in a little more.
Mr. Brannan said he wanted the Secretary to understand
the frame of mind in which he was sending the letter and
his purpose in calling was only tortry to head off such
a thing in future.
The Secretary said he would be glad to get the letter
and he would see what could be done.
