    "ocrText": "DECI ASSIFIED\nE.O. 10501\nIO:\nMr. Sagona\nSeptember 22, 1952\nUSUN:\nMr. Davis\nARCHIVES RECORDS SERVICE\" AND\nAccompodations at the\nfor Secretery Acheson and Perty\nIn response to your request and my telephone conversation with Joff Kitchen,\nI transmi ted to Ed Hastings, General Menager of the Waldorf, the detailed re-\nquirements for the Secretary's party.\nHastings has offered to make available, Suite 28-A, in the Waldorf Towers\nwhich is a lunnury suite used by Queen Juliana recently and by the Duke of\nWindsor. While the Department might prefer a somewhat lesa luxurious suite, the\nfact remeins that it appears to be the only one available that would give the\nnumber of rooms required.\nI am attaching a chart of the suite but have peneilled in the two single\nadjacent rooms opening off the entrence corridor which can be made available for\nthe two SY agents. The room marked \"Den\" is ample to accommodate luncheons or\ndinners for as many es twenty people. The bedroom in the northwest corner would\npresunably be occupied by Jeff Kitchen who, as you will note, could go into and\nout of his room w1 thout passing through the Acheson bedrooms. This room is very\nlarge and could be used as the working offico as well as a bedroom if desired.\nI recommend, however, that the maid'a room, which 1a just off the dining room,\nbe set up as an office.\nYou will note that there is no bedroom available in this suite for Miss Evans\nand the other secretery, but Mr. Hastings has promised us a twin-bed double room\non the floor below the suite from which the suite could be reached very easily\neither by a stairway or elevators.\nThis muite will cost $125 a day plus $15 or $20 a day for the double room\non the 27th floor but, of course, has the advantage of being completely away from\nother parts of the hotel and can be given excellent secuit ty protection. Te are\nprepared to install an off-prenises extension from the Mission switchboard into\nwhichever room Jeff Kitchen decides upon as an office.\nThe Waldorf is also prepered to make a room available for Rudolph Warren if\nthe Secretary decides to bring his car to New York.\nMr. Hastings has been told that the Secretary and his party will need this\nsuite from Sunday, October 12 for a period of approximately tio weeks and that it\nmight be needed again later on.\nPlease let me kmow immediately if there are any aspects of this arrangement\nthat are unsatisfactory,\nEnclosure (To Mr. Sagona) - Chart\nce: S:\nMr. Kitchen\nUSUNs\nMr. Winslow, Mr. Bohmrich\nMr. Tambone, Chron., FU"
