appointment es Secretary of State and all my good
wishes to you for success in thot office.
I don't know whethor you saw this cartoon from
the Washington Post the other day. I think it will
anuse you.
All of us in the Department stand reedy to help
you in any way we can to assure the smoothest possible
trensition. When you have decided on your top people,
we will be glad to have any or all of tham come and
sit with us in any way that you think would be useful.
