Dear Miss Evans: Thank you very much for the help you gave me Tuesday and yesterday. The materials that Mr. Acheson agreed to let me see are quite central to the dissertation I am writing, and you made consulting them as easy as possible. It seems that I will not be able to return to Washington this weekend, owing to difficulties here at home. As you suggested, I shall plan to come to Washington again sometime after anuary 6, and spend as much time as is needed (I would guess 10-20 hours, depending on whether any photocopying is possible) with the draft memoirs.
