WASHINGTON
June 28, 1949
Dear Edgar:
I appreciated very much your letter of the
twenty-fifth - in regard to the Post Office
building in Independence.
I had hoped that the half block West of the
present site of the Post Office might be
obtained and an extension built on to the
present building to take care of the situation
but somebody informed me that that lot had
been disposed of to a speculator and that
there wasn't any chance of getting it. I think
in all probability a new and separate building
will be built and I hope, when it is finished,
that it will be to your entire satisfaction.
Sincerely yours,
Honorable Edgar G. Hinde
