II The 3rd Guard Division wes withdrewn the night of the ilth and its place taken by the 17th Bavarien Regiment, according to statement made by a Goman officer yesterday and to identification OF units on our front. The Goman line last evening oc cupied the trench system behind the barb wire running jus t in front of Ville-en-Woevre, thraigh the centei of Bois de Manheulles to le Bour- beau Faim, then north threagh Le Petit Bourbeau wood to tic main trorch crossing the Gnimaucourt-Hemeville road 10/10 kilometers east of Grimaucourt then north following the trench to Hautecourt. III It is reported this mornirg that Geman soldiors were evacuating Villc-en- TOCVIC and marching North. The officers were wearing side arms and the mon un- amed, apparently loaving all rifl es bchind. IV Up to the present the 2nd French Colonial Coros has been composed of the following divisions, from right to left: 8lst U.S., 10th Fremc, 26th U. So, 79th U.S., 15th French By order of the Coros, the 8lst Di vision is to hold the same front which it now occupics, the 10th French and 26th U.S. are to bc rolieved by the 6th U. the 79th U.S. is to extend its front so as to hold i ts prescnt front and relicvo the 15th Fronch. On the east and west trail from Moranville to Grimaucourt, which i s north of the raue do 1a Chaudcnie: re at about point 410.665 is a large Goman minc Belax of 44 mines. one nine inch tronch mortar sholl is in each minc. The minc is a vooden box set about one foot below the service of the ground containing the shell and a wire attached to the fuse at the end of the sholl.
