(c) Comment on Enemy Units: The 45th Reserve Division which has two regiments in line in CHAMPAGNE and one in the AIRE valley, was enroute for ALSACE to FLANDERS, September 26th, but was stopped and sent into line. A prisoner of the 212th Reserve Regiment is positive that the divisional staff, and one battalion, as well as all three machine guncompanies of his regiment were not stopped in time and he does not know whether they have yet returned to the div- ision. His battalion detrained at ST. MOREL at noon and start ed to the front at midnight. His regiment went into support behind the 20th Regiment, 5th Guard Division, after daybreak, September 27th. The division has had nearly two months rest, since it was in the MARNE battle, and its companies have been brought nearly up to strength (90 effectives per company). 76th Reserve Division - This division appears to have been hurried from the LAON front September 25th in view of the anti- cipated allied attack, and to have gone into support in the ARGONNE, for one regiment was identified late September 27th, in the ARGONNE and two regiments the same day, immediately west of the ARGONNE forest, against the French on our left. A prisoner of the 254th Reserve Regiment, states that they left LAON September 25th, apparently as if on a normal movement, but just before. starting there were signs of accelerated arrangements. The prisoner states the division is rested, and has nearly normal strength - 80 trench effectives per company. 37th Division - Prisoners of the 147th Regiment, captured today, state that their division was resting in the region of BILLY, LOISON, east of the MEUSE. It was given an alert in the night of September 25-26, and was later hurried to its present sector, in motor trucks. Prisoners already classified in the army cage includes the following: 7th Reserve Division 2013 117th Division. 1671 lst Guard Division 1535 2nd Landwehr Division 375
