GENERAL IMPRESSIONS OF THE DAY; Between the MOSELLE and the MEUSE, the day was character- ized in a special way, only by an unúsually heavy rearward movement of troops and vehicles on the lines, LES BARAQUES-MARS-1a-TOUR and PAGNY-CORNY. Wost of the MEUSE, the onemy has increased his resistance with infantry roinforcoments, machine guns and artillory. Important counter attacks have takon placo, particularly in the region of EXERMONT, immediatcly east of tho AIRE valley. II. ENEMY FRONT LINES: We hold the west bank of the MEUSE river to BRIEULLES. From the southern odge of BRIEULLES the hostile line runs south to approximatoly 314.0-283.0, then turning west parallels the northorn edge of the Bois de BRIEULLES and continues to the castorn odge of the Bois dos OGONS. From this point it turns south for about ono kilometer, thon takés a southwostorly direction to and including the town of CIERGES. It passes just south of GESNES and follows the ridges north of the GESNES-EXERMONT road and the ridges east and west of EXERMONT. The line thon passes north of APREMONT to the hill 245, and the crossroads 600 moturs southwest, thence about two kilometers in a southerly direction, turning finally wost and a little north to tho end of the Amorican soctor. III. ENEMY ORDER OF BATTLE: (a) identifications: 2nd Landwehr Division - One prisoner of the 125th Regiment, in front of APREMONT, September 20th. 52nd Division - Prisoners of the lilth, 169th and 170th Regiments, in valley of AIRE, afternoon of September 29th. The prisoners state that tho division detrained at ST. JUVIN, September 28th,whore it had been sent directly from METZ. Tho Division was reported resting in FLANDERS, Soptember 17th. Prisonors state the order of battle from west to east is:IIlth Regiment, 169th Regiment, 170th Regiment. 5th Guard Division - Prisoners of the 20th Regiment, region of IERGES-NANTILLOIS, September 28-29th.
