American Expeditionary Forces
29th October 1918.
From:
Commanding General, 35th Division.
To:
Commanding Officer, Battery D, 129th Field Artillery
(Through Commanding General, 10th F. A. Brigade)
Subject: Commendation.
1. The following extract from the report of
the Commanding Officer, 110th Mobile Ordnance Repair
Shop, is quoted for your information;
The matériel of Battery D, 129th Field
Artillery, was found to be in a most excellent condition;
* * The matériel of this battery was in superior
condition to that of any other battery of the two regiments,
and evidenced the fact that unusual care had been exercised
by the commissioned and enlisted personnel of this battery,
resulting in the highest state of efficiency in the care of
its Ordnance Matériel. 11
2. The above report is of a kind that the Command-
ing General of this Division expects, but too infrequently
receives. I take great pleasure in commending you and the
officers and enlisted men of your battery for this excellent
showing which I consider a standard for the other organizations
of this Division to reach and to hold.
