I. OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENOE
The attention of commanding officers is again called to
the matter of signing indorsements and official
The signer of all official correspondence shall appond his own
neme by order, etc., and Shall not sign the name 01 nother per
his own initials.
II, BILLEAING DISTRIBUTION LISTS FOR JANUARY.
AIZ Commanding Officers will immediatoly ascertain from
their Acting Town Majors whether billeting distribution lists for
the month of January have been mado out for ail broops under their
jurisdiction and if so they will further ascertain to whom these
lists have been trensmitted. The information so obtained will be
transmitted to the Division R. Ro & C. Officer, these Headquarters,

The Commanding Officers in all towns will designate an officer
of their command to remain behind after the departure of the troons
for the period reauired by the ropulations to settle elsims against
the departing organizations. the name, rank and rganization of
the officer so designated SO remai: a behind will be immediately trans-
mitted to these Peadquarterse Before these officers depart they will
make a suminary o: olsims presented to them and action Seken thereon.
These reports will be forwarded to the R. R. & C. Officer, C-l.
Section, Second Army.
III. CARE OF WATER SYSTEMS IN FREEZING WEATHER
on account of the exmósed state of the pirtobing systems in
most of the buildings and berracks in or near Toul, extra precautions
to prevent freezing are necessary during cold snaps.
When the tempsrature is bel.ow freezing, steps should be taken
each night by a responsible person.
(a) To drain the plumbirg system, where possible; or
(b) To opon one tap a slight amount.
Water pipes in very exposed places should be insulated with
a
layer of straw not less than an inch thick, held in place with twine.
Windows in Toilet Rooms should be closed during the night,
and where adjoining rooms are heated, doors should be left open.
In the latter case, a brief ventilation in the morning will be
necessary.
