G-3 MEMORANDUM NO. 43.
TRAINING
1. Training for the various units of the Division will con-
tinue to be in accordance with General Orders 207 and 236, G.H.Q. ,
until further advice. Training schedules will be submitted by
each organization, covering the training for that organization,
so
as to reach these Headquarters, Office of G-3, by 5 P.M., Satur-
'day afternoon of the week preceding. The week commencing February
24th will be the fourth week of the third period. AS advised al-
ready, however, there will be no regimental maneuvers, brigade or
divisional terrain exercises, so that the five hours prescribed
for regimental work for the third and fourth weeks should be de-
voted to company or battalion work as seems most necessary to the
organization commander. A report as to how much of the training
under the above general orders has been carried out during the
week will be submitted by you to these Headquarters, Office of
G-3, by 5 P.M., on Saturday of each week.
2. Special attention will be paid to the personal cleanli-
ness of the men and care of their clothing, equipment and billets;
and it is suggested that more responsibility I for this in the dif-
ferent organizations be placed W ith the noncommissioned officers,
and that competition be stimulated in the different squads and
platoons to this end.
