I.
LEAVES TO PARIS
Attention is directed to General Order 14, , C.S., G.H.Q.
A.B.F., wherein Paris is included under Exceptional Destinations.
Co manding officers are NOT authorized to grant leaves to Paris.
II. RATE OF EXCHANGE.
1. Rate of exchange for conversion from dollars to francs
during the month of March is 5.45.
III. PREPARATION OF PAY ROLLS
It is requested that as far as possible, all officers who
have submitted vouchers, draw their pay on the last day of this
month. Personnel Officers are requested to have their pay rolls
prepared for payment on the first or second of March and to make
arrengements to get the money on those dates, but to telephone
Division Finance Officer'a day before coming after it in order to
be sure the money is on hand.
IV. FOOTBALL GAME
In the semi-finals of the Second Army Championship the 35th
Division and the 7th Division played a scoreless tie on the Commercy
Field Saturday, February 22nd. The 35th Division Team looked like
sure winners in the first quarter when they carried the ball , on line
snashes, to within one foot of the goal line, where they lost it on
downs. Both teams were evenly matched and the game at al stages was
full of excitement. The 35th Division completed six first downs
during the game against four for the 7th. Woodward, cockerill and
Kalama starred for the 35th, while Newberry and Gaddy proved the pick
of the 7th. These teams will play off the tie on the TOUL Gridiron
Thursday at 2:00 P.M.
V. BOXING AND WRESTLING
The preliminary bouts of the 35th Division Boxing and
Wrestling Tournament began Saturday evening, February 22nd, at the
Commercy Theatre. There are 48 entries in the boxing class and 21
entries in the wrestling class. Following are Saturday's results:
Lightweight;
pvt. Jack McCarthy, 138th Infantry, won
from pvt. James Schwipker, 137th Infantry.
pvt. Kveres Penny, 138 th Infantry, scored
a knock-out over Harry J. Smith, 140t}
Infantry in first round.
