G-3 MEDORANDUA No. 47:
RANGE PRACTICE
1. In accordanco bith provisions G. O. NO. 21, C.S. G.H.C.
Slst Januory, 1919, firing riflos and pistols for qualifications under the
rovisions of S.A.F.M. are authorized.
2. Rango #5, American Emberkatio Contor, commonly knoum as the
Bolgian Camp, situatod noar Champa(no, has boon assigned to this Division.
There aro to hundrod (200) riflo targets, distanco up to and including
six hundrod (600) yards; and ton pistoli targets.
3. All officors and men in the four Infintry Ro. iments who are
armed with pistols and riflos according to tablos of organization will
shoot on this range, the qualificution courses for these arms as pres-
cribed in the S.A.F.M. Each regiment Jill be Givon one woek on the range
and the schedule vill be as follous:

Whilo each regiment is firing the vholo regiment will be billoted
at the Bolgian Camp, and regimental billoting details will mako the nocess-
ary arrangements in advance with G-1. Each firing vill be re-
quirod to furnish guards, pit and firing line details.
4. The following officers are dotailed to as as a permanent
statistical board:
It. Colonol A. S. Harris, 140th Infentry, Chicf Statistical Officer.
Captain Paul Jones, etteched to 138th Inf. Asst. Stat. Officer.
Captain E. J. Conrad, attached to 107th Inf. Asst. Stat. Officer.
It. J. H. NcCallie, attached to 139th Inf. Asst. Stat. Officer.
It. To 17. Ward, attached to 140th Inf., Asst. Stat. Officer.
Lt. Colonel Harris will report to these Headquarters, Office
G-3, on arrival in this area, for instructions
This Board will cooperate with Captain E. W. Beck, Chief Range Officor,
Hoadquartors A.E.C., vho ha.s his huadquarters at Rango #5. The Commanding
Officors of each organization going to the range for firing will roport
to Lt. Collnel Harris who vill issue the necossary instructions for firing
vhilo that organization is at the rango.
5. The numbor of men qualifying in the different grapdus in the
firing prescribed abovo vill be figured in a general competition between
all organizations in the Division, details of vhich vill be announced
lator.
6. All men not ongaged in firing, while the organization is billet-
od at the range, will follow the training schedule as outlined by G-5 Momo--
randum No. 46, or other training schedules issued hereafter.
