NOTICE
This gun book is kept, under supervision
of the Battery Commander, by the Chief of
Section, who shall record daily the number
of rounds fired. A day is from midnight to
midnight.
In case of artillery using a variable charge,
the quantity of charges of each number will
be entered separately, the number being writ-
ten in the " Remarks" column.
The gun book must always go with the gun
when it is sent to the Repair Shop or trans-
ferred to another Battery, etc. Therefore each
Battery on receiving a gun whether new or not,
must insist on receiving at the same time the
corresponding gun book. The inscriptions on
the 1st page are to be filled in immediately
whenever the gun is transferred to another
Battery.
Each time the gun is sent to a Repair Shop,
the Commanding Officer of the Shop is to sum
up the total of rounds fired, as well as note in
Remarks Column anything observed bearing on
the condition of the gun. Every time the Inspec-
tor visits the Battery, he will ask for the gun
book and note under date of his visit the results
of his inspection.
