The following EXECUTIVE ORDER is published for the information and
guidance of all concerned:
EXECUTIVE ORDER
Jefferson City, August 3, 1917.
Guard of the State is drafted into Federal service On August 5,
1. In compliance with the following telegram, the entire National 1917:
"Washington, D. C. August 3, 1917.
Governor of State of Missouri,
Jefferson City, Missouri
Reference to the proclamation of the President dated July third
nineteen seventeen under the terms of which the Notional Guards
of the several states is to be drafted into the service of the
United States on August fifth nineteen seventeen you are informed
that the President desires that the organizations of your state
thus drafted into Federal service be assembled at places to be
designated to you by The Commanding General, Central Lepartment,
Chicago, Ill., The Department Commander has been directed to
advise you as to such places. Signed Baker, Secretary of War."
2. Under authority of The Commanding General, Centrol Department,
U. S. A., and in compliance with the ebove telegrom, all units of the Nat-
ional Guard and the National Guard Reserve of the State of Missouri, not
now in Federal servico, except Staff Corps and Departments, will be mobil-
ized at mobilization cemp, Camp Clark, Nevado, Missouri, on August 5, 1917,
Or as soon thereafter as practicable The Property end Disbursing Officer,
National Guard of Missouri, will make necessary arrangements for transpor-
tation and subsistence incident to the mobilization.
3. The Commanding General, National Guard of Missouri, is charged with
the execution of this order.
4. The travel directed is necessary in the nilitary service.
