1. CG FEAF msg VC 0118 CG, 29 Apr 52, is in reply to CSUSAF
query (CSUSAF msg TS 4934, 3 Apr 52) concerning North Korean
hydroelectric installations. Para A, part 1 of msg VC 0118
CG contains my present views concerning subject.
2. Photographic coverage of the installations and interpreta-
tion thereof continues. Estimates as to present and potential
import of these systems awaits successive photo coverage now being
conducted by this hq.
3. I can see no unusual circumstances bearing on a decision
to attack these North Korean hydroelectric installations which
would necessitate JCS specifically directing their attack (as
CSUSAF msg TS 4934 indicates possibly may be done) rather than
fol the normal procedure of attacking them after JCS approval
based on a recommendation from me.
4. I recommend that no action be taken concerning the attack
of these installations unless recommended by me as a result of
my continuous surveillance of these targets.
