The first meeting I attended (which me apparently the meeting)
of the group) was as Friday July 28th. the meeting consisted of &
desultancy discussion of general problems nestly relating to the look of
information on organizational arrangements which had been made in the
Hold and to the problem of action which might be taken by American
velunbary agencies. x was desided to follow up on an earlier telepron
asking for information 6 organisational astangements in the field.
The next meeting on August 1 accountlished little more and consisted
principally of a report by Hr. Spreyer of EGA who had just returned from
Korea. The representative of the American Red Gross raised with me the
question of the reply it should send to the Loans of led Cross Societias
in response to the suggestion of the League that the American Red Cross
surve as its representative in relations with the Sepretary General. I
presided to ascertain the Secretary General's wishes on this matter, and
subsequently reported that the arrangements would be agreeable to the
Secretary General.
Following this meeting, I initiated the telepron to USUN saking it
to consult with the Secretary General and other delegations, and setting
forth as the Department's tentative view that in addition to transmitting
all offers of assistance and relief and support to the littlied Commend
the Secretary General should be the or center for commediations
between the United Command Member Nations, ECOSOC, the specialised

has agreed with the principles outlines.
