P DCR Further to DELGA 870, there are indications that, while Son will probably not (rpt not) oppose postponement of Korean item, they will press for immediate consideration their en-3 tire res under old Sov item, including point re Korea. One indication their interest in discussing their views on Korea now (rpt now) is play they are giving to subject in connection CMC item. Moreover, Tsarapkin emphasized Korea in talk with Cooper Jan 38 Malik with Gross Jan 4 stating that Sov res on CMC item was intended help negotiations in Korea by "raising level of discussion". (See DELGA 889.) In light probable Sov pressure to have premature discussion Korean ques, USGADEL contemplates proceeding along fol lines when CMC item including SOT res disposed of. 1. After vote on CMC res and negative vote on Sov res, comite w.l.d be asked postpone consideration Korean item or ground that consideration here while armistice negots were proceeding eld only hamper negots. We wild put our views or this in most positive form, emphasizing our desire and that of all peace-loving countries to see Panmunion negots carried through to successful conclusion at earliest possible moment without obstruction by debate in Paris. 2.
